Aeturnis

Aeturnis's somewhat unusual colouration is a sign of her hybridised genetics. She was born to Alianna Christie, an unmarried Aardwolf. Her father was Julius Lowe, Lycaon vocalist of the melodic metal band, Aeternity. Alianna was a huge groupie, and was flattered to be invited backstage by Julius. Hybrids are so rare as to be virtually non-existant, and Alianna had not been light on the cocktails that evening, thus proper precautions were taken and nine months later Aeturnis was born. Alianna was somewhat embarrassed by the whole state of affairs, but still insisted on calling her daughter after the band. Julius was never informed that he was a father.

It was expected that Aeturnis would not survive - hybrids across Kinship groups (such as in this case Canines and Hyenides) are very sickly and if they survive long enough to be born, many die soon afterwards. Aeturnis did not. She was actually fairly robust, although her mother fussed over her rather unnecessarily. Her only weakness was the fact that she exhibited signs of Epilepsy and these incidents were controlled by drugs. However, during such episodes, Aeturnis experienced strange visions and fleeting thoughts - and sometimes they came true.

As she grew up, Aeturnis became curious as to her parentage - since the brown and white blotches on her pelt were not those commonly displayed in Aardowlf kin. Her mother was able to give her only fleeting details, and then only because she loved her daughter so dearly - her father's true identity was not revealed until after her mother's death, when Aeturnis was 15. Having no other family, Aeturnis sought out her father, and found trouble instead...
