I am NOT accepting new story commissions at this time. Check back again in June.

I have to date written four story commissions, and enjoyed each of them. I find them an interesting challenge, and it is always nice to get some money for my efforts too ^^ Currently I am running my fifth story commission, after which I intend to take a month's break and get back to my own stories. But if you are interested in one, I would recommende that A. you read my stories first to see if you like my writing style and B. you email me with your idea to see if I can write it.
Whilst fantasy is my preffered genre, I can also try mystery and have done, with some degree of success, romance and politics. Mostly I seem to wind up doing action, however. I can write from G to X-rated but I would prefer to have more subtlety in the manner of sex scenes. I've just got a little tired of writing long detailed ones! I have never tried writing techie stuff, but should be able to do it, since most of my friends are computer geeks and can offer me pointers and suggestions.
Prices start at $10; for a basic short story (up to 10 000 words). Once I exceed the 10 000 word limit I will charge $1 for 500 words over that limit. These prices are entirely negotiable though, and I will also accept trades in lieu of payment. All art trades will be greatly appreciated! If your story idea greatly interests me, or is particuarly simple, I will reduce the price. For harder stories (ie: ones that require research), I may charge a little more.

Want to know the ecology of one of your creations? Well, I am a zoology graduate, and thus can help you. For $20, yo uwill get:
* 5 or so pages detailing your species descriptions, habitat, behaviour, ecology, reproduction, social structure etc etc.
* one full colour picture of your animal (or animals, if there is female/male dimorphism)
* at least 5 pieces of b+w line art
Postage and Handling: $5 for art and most story commissions (depending on length and weight of final version)
Printing costs: Because ink is expensive, if you want your story printed out, and neatly collated (stapled or stitched in a book form) there is a charge of 10c per printed page.
Burned to CD: $3. Cds will be posted in jewel cases and padded envelopes, so postage may also increase.
If you prefer not to pay extra, stories can be emailled as can artwork. In the case of Ecology Commissions, I shall set up a page for you to DL from.
I only accept Paypal since I live internationally. And I can now accept Credit Cards!
Art commissions I will likely complete within two weeks (RL events not withstanding) of receiving payments. For story commissions, these can take as little as a month or up to three months, depending on the complexity of the story. It is my aim to keep you up to date with my progress however, and I shall aim to send weekly "progress reports". You can also chose whether you wish for me to send you parts of the story as I write it, or wait until the final draft is complete. It will then be emailled to you for you to read over and point out anything I've got wrong (because I don't know your world as well as you do, for example). I shall aim to rectify all reasonable errors (if you wait until I've finished to tell me something extremely important and relevant about your world that will involve rewriting major parts of the story, I do not consider that reasonable), until either you are entirely satisfied or I consider it unreasonable (likely the first).
If you need the commission done by a certain date, please let me know and I'll do my best - but I'm not a miracle worker and stories take time, so if you want to give one to your mate, give me three months notice to be assured of satisfaction! Art commissions I can generally get done quicker.
Because I live in New Zealand, it can take anything between one week and three weeks for your package to arrive. I'll tell you when I post it, please do not panic until it has been about three weeks.
I will keep a scan of every picture I draw and a copy of every story. I have the right to use these for sample purposes in a non-profit manner (ie: displaying them on my websites) and giving credit where credit is due. I also reserve the right to edit the stories, rendering them from X-rated to a PG status, if I so desire.
I will not directly make money by selling prints or getting the story published of your commissioned works (although I will use them to advertise for future commissions).
You have the right to publish the story on your website provided that you do not claim to have written/drawn them yourself. I would obviously like to be credited, and perhaps a link made to this page, but that is courtesy and not compulsory. You are entitled to sell the original work (or the signed version of the story), but not copies. If for some reason you want to publish the story, please contact me first, and I must be named as the author!
